our story

In 2005, a group of families from Mountain Life Church in Park City began praying about planting a church in the Heber Valley.

In 2007, Pastor Shane Finley was called from Southern California to plant a church with this handful of families in the Heber Valley.

On September 7, 2008, after a year of developing a vision, meeting as a Bible Study and reaching out in the community, Mountain View Fellowship was born. Over 150 people showed up to celebrate on that first Sunday to show their support and consider making MVF Church their church home.

From the beginning, MVF Church has sought to help people Meet Jesus & Live Free. We're passionate about serving in our community, and over the years, those efforts  included food delivery, tutoring for kids and students, community events and jail ministry. We've continued to reach out to serve our community and offer events throughout the week for men, women, kids, students and families.

In October 2019, we partnered with a local Wyoming church and opened up a second campus. Formerly known as Gateway Community Christian Church, we are grateful to have them as a part of the MVF Church family now.

In 2023, we completed our new building in Heber, which allows us to accommodate more people in the Heber Valley area who are curious about pursuing a life with Jesus Christ. We offer two services on Sundays at 9:30 and 11 a.m., and events during the week for all people ages and stages of life.

Wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome at MVF Church. We look forward to meeting you.

From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. 'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'”
