In 2005, a group of people from Mountain Life Church in Park City started dreaming about what could be if a church was planted in the Heber Valley. They shared their dream with Mountain Life and together they worked to save the funding to see a church planted. In 2007, Pastor Shane was called from Southern California to plant a church with this handful of families in the Heber Valley. On September 7th, 2008, after a year of developing a vision, meeting as a Bible Study and reaching out in the community, Mountain View Fellowship was born. Over 150 people showed up to celebrate, show their support and consider making MVF Church their church home.
From the beginning, MVF Church has sought to proclaim to the Heber Valley and beyond that Jesus is enough. The gospel of Jesus alone has the power to bring people into a relationship with God. We have found ways to connect to the community through various avenues of service, including food delivery, tutoring, community events, and jail ministry to name a few.
Over the next few years, the church grew from an average attendance of under 100 to over 275, as well as baptizing over 100 people from all different backgrounds into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
With a passion to see the message of the grace of Jesus spread throughout Utah, MVF Church is not content to concentrate all of its focus in Heber. We recognize the great void of the gospel throughout Utah and desire to bring the gospel to many of the rural and progressing rural towns throughout the Wasatch back and beyond. We started our second campus in Kamas on Easter Sunday, 2016 with over 170 in attendance, and by the end of its first year had grown to over 75 people in regular weekly attendance.
As of October 2019, we have officially adopted our third campus. Gateway Community Christian Church came to us towards the end of 2018 to see how MVF Church could assist in building the kingdom in their area, whether through adopting them as a campus or other forms of assistance. Through multiple conversations, it became evident that adopting Gateway as a campus would be the most effective way to further the gospel. We are very excited to have them as a part of the MVF Church family.
Today MVF Church has a regular weekly attendance of approximately 450 people across the three campuses, but we don’t plan on stopping there. We are committed to raising up leaders and people with a heart to see Christ proclaimed, and sending them throughout Utah to plant more campuses.
