When is it appropriate for my child to take communion? These are questions we all have! Below are some helpful video links for both kids & parents. If you have any questions or need further guidance, please feel free to contact one of our pastors at church.

MVF Church would love for parents & children to partake in communion together. On communion Sunday (the 1st Sunday of each month) come to the check-in station, print your child's tag & then proceed to take your child(ren) into service with you. They will then be dismissed to Kid's Church after the elements are shared.
Is your child ready for baptism? This is a common question that is asked by many parents. Hopefully these resources and videos can help make the answer to this question easier.
In our christian faith, we do not baptize children at a certain age, but rather focus on the heart of the child. First, we must make sure they understand what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ. Second, we want the kids to know that anyone thinking of getting baptized should have already committed their life to Christ. Baptism is only a byproduct of this commitment and is an outward profession of faith in front of both believers & non-believers. Baptism is NOT a requirement for salvation.
This video is for parents to watch before sitting down with their kids to discuss baptism: When should we baptize our kids?
Here are some short videos to watch with your kids. Keep in mind that there is not a test to decide if your child is ready for baptism, ultimately this is a decision that you and your child should make together.
Video - What is Baptism? (a kids version)
Here are a few questions to talk over with your kids:
- What is your initial reaction to this video? Do you disagree with any of it? What jumped out at you?
- Have you ever seen someone get baptized? What was it like?
- Parents: Have you been baptized? Describe it.
- Kids: Read Romans 6:4. What does baptism symbolize in our lives?
- Kids: Have you asked Jesus into your heart? If so, when? If not, do you want to do it now?
- Put together, with your parents, a "testimony" or statement of why you want to be baptized.
If you have any questions about being baptized please feel free to talk with any of the pastors at MVF or Michelle Burchardt, Children's Director at email@example.com
