CHILDREN'S MINISTRY OF MVF

Here at Mountain View Fellowship we recognize that a church is not only a place where the focus is on adult ministry. We value the messages we teach and want to provide the kids with a fun & outgoing atmosphere to learn about Jesus. Our children have their very own time of worship & learning.  A full program is offered during each of our Sunday morning services for every age group; nursery (ages 0-2), preschool (ages 3-5) and elementary (grades K-4). When you come in, simply ask one of our greeters and they will gladly show you where we meet.

We have a convenient check-in and check-out process in our children's area. The weekly programs for the kids are filled with interactive activities, songs, videos, arts and crafts, games, prizes, and teaching about God and His Word.  We are currently using curriculum from The Believe series & PursueGod.org. We encourage you to explore their websites. Our teachers and leaders would love to meet you, so take a minute to introduce yourself before you drop off your kids & fill out a first time visitor form.

  • BAPTISM

Is your child ready for Baptism? This is a common question that is asked by many parents. Hopefully these resources and videos can help make the answer to this question easier.

In our christian faith, we do not baptize children at a certain age, but rather focus on the heart of the child. First, we must make sure they understand what it means to be a follower of Christ. Second, we want the kids to know that anyone thinking of getting baptized should have already committed their life to Christ. Baptism is only a byproduct of this commitment and is an outward profession of faith in front of both believers & non-believers. Baptism is NOT a requirement for salvation.

This Video is for parents to watch before sitting down with their kids to discuss baptism:

Video - "When should we baptize our kids"

Here are some short videos to watch with your kids. Keep in mind that there is not a test to decide if your child is ready for baptism, ultimately this is a decision that you and your child should make together.

Video - What is Baptism? (a kids version)

Video - A "Father- Son Conversation about baptism"

Here are a few questions to talk over with your kids:

    1. What is your initial reaction to this video? Do you disagree with any of it? What jumped out at you?
    2. Have you ever seen someone get baptized? What was it like?
    3. Parents: Have you been baptized? Describe it.
    4. Kids: Read Romans 6:4. What does baptism symbolize in our lives?
    5. Kids: Have you asked Jesus into your heart? If so, when? If not, do you want to do it now?
    6. Put together, with your parents a "testimony" or statement of why you want to be baptized

If you have any questions about being baptized please feel free to talk with any of the Pastors at MVF or Michelle Burchardt, Childrens Director at mburchardt@mvfchurch.com
